1. Choose the Right Paper
Standard copy paper (20 lb) works for crayons, but if your child uses markers or watercolors, upgrade to cardstock (65-80 lb). Thicker paper prevents bleed-through and holds up better when coloring.
Paper recommendations:
- Crayons & colored pencils: Standard 8.5x11 copy paper is fine
- Markers: Use 24-28 lb paper or cardstock to prevent bleed-through
- Watercolor or paint: Watercolor paper (90 lb+) is essential
2. Printer Settings That Make a Difference
All our PDFs are formatted for US Letter (8.5x11 inches) with high-resolution black outlines. Set your printer to Actual Size (not Fit to Page) and use Black & White or Grayscale mode to save ink.
- Set scale to 100% or "Actual Size"
- Choose Black & White to preserve sharp outlines
- If borders get cut off, check "Borderless Printing" is off
- For double-sided, use heavier paper to avoid show-through
